Application Deadline

First review of applications occurs on February 15 prior to the fall semester for which you are applying. Second review will occur March 15 prior to the fall semester for which you are applying.

Applications received after March 15 will be reviewed on a rolling, first-received basis, but only if the incoming class quota has not already been satisfied.

International applicants will upload a credential evaluation of their non-U.S. college or university transcripts from one of the services listed at this link: Credential_Evaluation

Test Requirements

GRE General Test

Required Electronically

  • Application fee
  • Official GRE scores

Transcripts of all previous academic work at the undergraduate and graduate (if applicable) level. 
Applicants must upload unofficial copies of their transcripts and if admitted, all transcripts will be verified by the Graduate School. Applicants who previously attended James Madison University still need to upload an unofficial transcript, but do not need to provide official transcripts for verification.

All of the above listed requirements can/should be uploaded within the online application, and test scores, if required, should be sent electronically to the Graduate School from the Educational Testing Service.
