Application Deadline

The Educational Leadership concentration accepts applications on a rolling basis. Completed applications should be received at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the semester in which the student intends to enroll.

This is a part-time only program.

The Educational Leadership concentration program does not qualify for a student visa.

Transcripts

Unofficial transcripts from all post-secondary institutions should be uploaded with your electronic application and may be used for departmental admission review purposes. If offered admission, you will be directed and required to submit to the JMU Graduate School an official transcript from any institution from which a degree has been awarded to finalize your admission. Transcripts are considered official if they are sent to JMU directly from the issuing institution.

  • Personal statement - regarding your professional goals and how your new degree or additional credential will assist you in meeting these goals
  • Two letters of recommendation, one of which should be from a school administrator
  • Collegiate Professional License required
  • Applicants should have an undergraduate GPA of 2.75 or better, hold or have held a valid teaching license or provide documentation of professional employment in the field, and have three years of full-time teaching (or equivalent) experience in a school setting.

The Educational Leadership (M.Ed.) concentration does not qualify for a student visa.
