Transcripts

Unofficial transcripts from all post-secondary institutions should be uploaded with your electronic application and may be used for departmental admission review purposes. If offered admission, you will be directed and required to submit to the JMU Graduate School an official transcript from any institution from which a degree has been awarded to finalize your admission. Transcripts are considered official if they are sent to JMU directly from the issuing institution.

Required by Program
  • Professional resume
  • Two-to-three page written statement (double-spaced) describing the applicant’s professional background, educational issues that the applicant would like to address in the program and long-term professional goals
  • Two Professional Reference Letters
  • Video upload answering the following: 1) Briefly describe why you are interested in the JMU M.Ed. in Equity and Cultural Diversity program, 2) What are your career aspirations upon completing your master's degree?, 3) What strengths will you bring to our program?
  • Informal interview (in person, Skype, OR phone) with at least one of the program’s faculty members to ensure the applicant understands the goals and requirements of the M.Ed. 
  • Undergraduate grade point average of 3.0
  • GRE General Test or Miller Analogies Test is required for all students who do not meet the following condition: an undergraduate GPA of 3.0
