Get to know The Graduate School

The Graduate School (TGS) oversees all of the graduate programs at JMU. During your time here as a graduate student you will interact with TGS. It's a good idea to become familiar with the policies and procedures in the Graduate Catalog. Also, consider bookmarking the web site. You'll probably find the information on the Current Students page helpful. Occasionally, TGS will e-mail graduate students announcements or reminders.

TGS Gazette

The Grad School Gazette is an online newsletter published to keep graduate students and faculty up to date on graduate education at JMU. It highlights graduate students, graduate programs, graduate faculty, and graduate alumni. The Gazette also includes coverage of recent and upcoming events and a message from the Dean.

The Graduate School Picnic
TGS hosts a picnic for all graduate students during Graduate Education Month in the fall. Family and guests are welcome, food and drinks are provided, and door prizes will be drawn. This is a great opportunity to meet other graduate students. For details, watch for an e-mail from TGS in the Fall.

The Graduate Council
The Graduate Council is an important body for making decisions about graduate programs. If you're interested in the activities of the Graduate Council, a summary is published in the Gazette each semester.
