Parking at JMU

Parking Permit
Obtaining a parking permit at JMU is essential if you plan to drive to campus. Parking regulations are strictly enforced 24 hours a day and tickets can be expensive. Parking permits can be ordered online through the parking services web site, or purchased from the parking services office on the ground floor of the parking garage near the stadium. Refer to the parking services web site for current permit costs.

Parking Space
A parking permit does not guarantee a place to park on campus. It's recommended that students plan to arrive on campus early to allow time to find an appropriate place to park. At peak times, students may have to wait for a parking space or park at more distant lots and walk to campus. Spend some time reviewing the parking regulations and parking lots available to avoid receiving a ticket.

Alternatives
Use of the Harrisonburg bus system is free with your JAC card, so check out the bus schedules and routes. Also, many students carpool, ride a bike, or walk to campus.
