Taryn Roberts joined the Center for Global Engagement in July 2014 as a Study Abroad Advisor and now serves as the Assistant Director of Study Abroad at James Madison University.  In her leadership role, she supervises study abroad advisors, gives oversight to the application process in Terra Dotta, and works with faculty and academic administrators with close to 300 study abroad courses offered every year.  Taryn received her Masters of Education with a concentration in Student Affairs from the University of Virginia.  During her program, she was the graduate assistant in the International Studies Office where she coordinated activities for incoming exchange students, prepared students for their study abroad programs, and assisted the office in the promotion of international studies as a source of the holistic student experience.

Taryn has a passion for working with students and a strong interest in international studies.  Her goal is to be the “wow factor” in the lives of young people, encouraging and motivating students to take advantage of study abroad opportunities and to seek the extraordinary.  She believes her travels have shaped who she is as a person and agrees with Mary Anne Radmacher who said, “I am not the same having seen the moon shine on the other side of the world.”
