Communication Studies and Study Abroad

Communication majors seek to understand and study all the processes in which individuals, organizations, and the public communicate. What better way to examine this than by studying abroad? Studying abroad can be helpful and rewarding to a communication major in several ways. Students studying abroad will be able to observe and participate in non-verbal communication, giving the student a better understanding of this process. Majors could also communicate in a different language, creating the chance to learn aspects of communication that are different across cultures. Studying abroad gives the student an opportunity to observe cultural interactions and become better communicators.

See the list of recommended study abroad programs below.  Please be aware that for any external or exchange study abroad programs listed, students will need to check with their academic department to see if courses taken while abroad will transfer and fulfill needed requirements.
