JMU Cross Cultural Program: Leadership and Global Engagement

Program Description:

The JMU Cross-Cultural Summer Program: Leadership and Global Engagement takes place at James Madison University (JMU) in Harrisonburg, Virginia. During the program, students engage in exploring different aspects of leadership and global citizenship. Academic components include a variety of classes and lectures offered by JMU professors and guest speakers. Cultural programs include visiting historical places in Washington D.C. and interaction with the local community. 


Certificate of Attendance and Certificate Supplement (indicating that all activities are equivalent to 3 U.S. Academic Credits.

Location Description:

Harrisonburg is an independent city in the Shenandoah Valley region of Virginia, and it provides visitors with unimaginable culinary options, a flourishing arts community, endless outdoor adventures, a lively downtown and a diverse mix of performances, annual events and festivals. Close proximity to Washington, D.C. provides opportunities for excursions with rich cultural and historical learning.

Program dates:

July 1st through July 28th, 2018

Accommodations and meals:

Program participants will live on-campus in double occupancy rooms in a dormitory. For the students’ convenience, each room is equipped with linens and air conditioning. The dormitory is near by the dining facilities.

Program fee:

The program fee is $2,900.00. Each student or his/her institution is responsible for travel expenses to the nearest airport (Washington Dulles Airport). The program fee includes housing, all meals, excursions, entrance fees, airport pick up, and local transportation.
