Two Presidents: Together in Richmond for the Virginia legislative session
As a member of the President’s Council, you know JMU’s financial resources come from multiple sources. This is the time of year that the commonwealth’s legislative business is conducted in Richmond, which means JMU President Linwood H. Rose is meeting with Virginia’s elected officials, sharing Madison’s achievements and making his case for resources for the university. As part of his rounds this year, Rose also is introducing President-Elect Jonathan Alger to Virginia’s elected officials, cabinet members and administrators. From Dr. Rose: Nick Langridge selected as acting vice president for university advancement
As Dr. Joanne Carr retires at the end of February, I would like to thank her for her service to our institution as Senior Vice President for University Advancement. With president-elect Alger’s concurrence, I have asked my assistant, Nick Langridge, to serve as the acting vice president for university advancement effective March 1. Mr. Langridge will begin the transition to his new post immediately. Jonathan R. Alger selected as sixth president
The James Madison University Board of Visitors has unanimously selected Mr. Jonathan R. Alger to serve as the next president of James Madison University.
“We desired a leader who values our student-centered focus, emphasis on teaching and is committed to the full development of the individual. We needed someone with an appreciation for the historical strengths of the University and one willing to invest time to understand our distinct institutional culture." Read more »
