04.09.09 - Bob Johnson (BS 1979) Presents Distinguished Alumnus Seminar

Robert Johnson returned to campus today to present the Distinguished Alumnus Seminar at the Department of Geology and Environmental Seminar Series. He has a B.S. Degree in Geology from JMU (1979) and an M.S. in Environmental Science (1983) from the University of Virginia. He is the Director of the National Park Service science activities for the Florida Everglades and Dry Tortugas natural resources/restoration projects overseeing a $20 million budget for monitoring, research and resource management projects. He is the liaison with the Department of the Interior (DOI)/National Parks Service and the National Academy of Sciences. He is also the senior technical representative for the Dept. of the Interior/National Parks Service in south Florida.
