Department of Geology and Environmental Science, James Madison University
The Department of Geology and Environmental Science invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level with specialty in Engineering Geology. The successful candidate will be capable of teaching undergraduate courses in:
1. Engineering Geology (including soil engineering and soil mechanics) for geoscience majors,
2. An introductory Applied Geology course for engineering majors, and
3. General education courses for non-science majors.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the potential for excellence in teaching and will develop an active, undergraduate-oriented research program in the candidate’s specialty. Applied geotechnical experience is a plus. A PhD is expected at the time of appointment.
