Test Information
Course has only a midterm and a final, but the testing styles are different. Midtern is a scantron/computer graded test while the final is essay. More details for each are below (this same information is at the Final Exam link).
Evolutionary Systems is still evolving; there are many more topics we want to explore than there is time for, and we are always working to explore more interesting things in more concise ways. Because of this, specific questions on the test samples linked below will change, but we do not expect the format of the tests to change.
Midterm
The midterm exam in the course deals with fundamental concepts of chaos theory, complexity theory, and the computer simulations and experiments we study that exhibit these behaviors, such as cellular automata. It is a True/False/Multiple Choice test , including interpretations of charts, diagrams, graphs, figures, etc. That is, it is nitty-gritty understanding of basic facts, concepts, terms, assumptions, theories, etc.

Final Exam
The final exam is essay format. The goal of the Evolutionary Systems is to apply chaos/complexity to real world problems in a wide diversity of disciplines and in the final exam we ask you to do this integrating and applying.
