Summer Grants Purpose

The primary purposes of General Education Summer Grants are to strengthen teaching in the General Education program and to encourage collaboration among faculty.  General Education Summer Grants are awarded to groups of faculty engaged in course modification, sharing information to improve alignment across sections, exploring new pedagogies, refining assessment practice, or other projects relevant to the program.

For summer 2013, grants that address the student learning outcomes of The Madison Collaborative: Ethical Reasoning in Action or Environmental Stewardship will be given special consideration. Proposers of such grants should consult with QEP Task Force (Lee Sternberger, Chair) or the Office of Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability (CJ Brodrick Hartman) in order to best determine alignment of the project with those initiatives. Use Attachment E to verify support by the QEP Task Force or the Office of Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability.
