Latin and Russian Placement Exams

Placement exams for Latin and Russian are given in the Foreign Language Lab located in Keezell Hall.

We currently do not have a placement exam in Italian. Students interested in placing into Italian, Chinese, or Japanese, need to talk to the head professor in that language as listed on the department's front page. If the student has studied another language that he/she believes should count as a foreign language he/she will need to speak to the department head, Dr. Goebel, at 540-568-6128.

If the student has had one year or less in a language in high school, or would like to start a new language, they may simply enroll in 101 of that language, without taking a placement exam.
