Gandhi Center logo

The Gandhi Center logo includes a spiral form. The spiral is one of the most basic shapes found in nature and one of the most ancient symbols of growth, change, and transformation. For the Gandhi Center it evokes the processes that lead outward, onward, and upward from conflict toward creativity and harmony.

Conferences

The Gandhi Center organizes and hosts the Global Nonviolence International Conference and the Global Nonviolence Student Conference in alternate years. They serve as a catalyst for change and action and are open to the larger community in an effort to reach beyond the Center's walls and share its riches.

Global Nonviolence International Conference

The international conference serves as a way to bring together academics, policymakers, business people, and civil society activists to discuss social problems and develop suggestions for change. The Gandhi Center hosted its inaugural international conference, "Religion: Conflict and Peace," in 2005.

Global Nonviolence Student Conference

The student conference serves as a way to bring together undergraduate and graduate students from universities and colleges across the United States and abroad to discuss social problems and develop suggestions for change. The Gandhi Center hosted its inaugural student conference, "Dialogues on Nonviolence and Peace," in 2006.
