The conferences of the Gandhi Center serve as a
catalyst for change and action. The Center organizes and hosts the
Global Nonviolence International Conference and the Global
Nonviolence Student Conference in alternate years.
Global Nonviolence
International Conference
The international conferences serve
as a way to bring together policymakers, academics, business
people, and civil society activists to discuss social problems and
develop suggestions for change. The Gandhi Center hosted its
inaugural international conference, "Religion: Conflict and Peace,"
in 2005.

Global Nonviolence Student
Conference
The conference is planned and
directed by students of James Madison University. We encourage
students from universities and colleges across the United States
and abroad to participate. We encourage presentations of
nonviolence and peace in all forms and from all disciplines and
perspectives. The Gandhi Center hosted its inaugural student
conference, "Dialogues on Nonviolence and Peace," in
2006.
