Illumination: Out of the Dark

On Thursday, November 17, 2011, Word is Born Writers' Society hosted "Illumination: Out of the Dark," a poetry jam and open mic night.  Ivaco Clarke, Word is Born founder and JMU alumnae, served as emcee, welcoming featured performers Jonathan Bowman, Richard Coppage, Kat Dolan, Matt Hawes, David Kobola, Mustafa Qarghah, Brittany Suit, Latasha Trimiew, and Curtis Winiesdorffer.  Open Mic readers included Alissa Babaeva, Logan Hill, Levi Key, InJeel Quran Omens El-Ji, Kayla Runion, Ruthie Shuford, and other JMU students!  Special guest Kevin McDonald rounded out a spectacular evening.
