Word Is Born Writers' Society

The mission of Word is Born is to promote a culture of creative writing at James Madison University.  Word is Born provides opportunities for students to develop their skills in poetry, fiction, and creative non-fiction; engages in literacy-centered community outreach and service; and fosters an appreciation of creative writing throughout the university and region.  Word Is Born Writers’ Society also supports the mission and objectives of the Furious Flower Poetry Center.
