Word Is Born Writers' Society

The mission of Word is Born is to promote a culture of creative writing at James Madison University.  Word is Born provides opportunities for students to develop their skills in poetry, fiction, and creative non-fiction,engages in literacy-centered community outreach and service, and fosters an appreciation of creative writing throughout the university and region.  Word Is Born Writers’ Society also supports the mission and objectives of the Furious Flower Poetry Center.
