| How can my school or community center host a viewing party? | |||
| JMU Media Services will be streaming the Nikki Giovanni concert live on the web (as a webcast). The webcast will then be archived on the JMU server so that anyone who misses the live event can click it and watch the webcast anytime they want. If your school or community center has a computer with Windows Media Player, a fast internet connection, and a projection screen, you can invite students, friends, or colleagues to a live viewing of Truth Is On Its Way. If you teach in a mediated classroom, you can have a screening of the concert in your class any time after the initial recording. | |||

| What is a Webcast? | |||
| JMU's version of Webcasting (which we have done for some years now) uses Windows Media technology and is playable on Windows Media Player (available for virtually all computers and pre-installed on Windows PCs). With Windows Media we can stream a LIVE event (video and/or
audio) over the Web in real time. After the event is over, we will provide an archive of the event available for viewing on-demand at the same URL where the live event was located. |

| What is a Podcast? | |||
According to www.wikipedia.com, " A podcast is a web feed of audio or video files placed on the Internet for anyone to subscribe to. Podcasters' websites also may offer direct download of their files, but the subscription feed of automatically delivered new content is what distinguishes a podcast from a simple download or real-time streaming." Following the Truth Is On Its Way performance, JMU Media Services will create a podcast file of the concert that listeners may download to their mp3 players. Check back at this site after February 27 for updates! |
