Poetry Contest
Furious Flower is pleased to announce a poetry contest open to summit participants! We hope that all undergraduate students attending the summit choose to enter. The award carries the honor of having your work judged by some of the participating poets in the summit, as well as a $100 cash prize. The winner will be announced at the Poetry Summit.
Poetry Contest Rules:
- Only undergraduate students are eligible, and you must be registered for the summit in order to enter the contest.
- The submission deadline is March 1, 2010
- You may submit one poem, any style or length. Your submission must be made electronically.
To submit your poem:
- Send an e-mail to Kalela Williams at willi4ka@jmu.edu.
- The e-mail subject should be “Collegiate Poetry Summit Contest.”
- Attach your poem as an MS Word document.
- In the body of the e-mail, please include: your name, your college or university, your year (sophomore, junior, etc.) and a telephone number. If you don’t send this e-mail from your own personal account, please make sure to include an e-mail address where we can contact you.
- You should receive a confirmation within two business days of your submission. If you do not get a confirmation, we may not have received your submission. Be sure to follow up with us.
