August 5-9:  9th Annual Children's Poetry Camp "Words In Motion."  Poetry Camp will be held August 5-9 from 9:00a.m.-2:00p.m. for rising 3rd to rising 8th graders in JMU's Memorial Hall; $75 registration fee includes lunch and snacks; scholarships are available. 

July 2013

July 14-August 3:  "Don't Deny My Voice:  reading and Teaching African American Poetry."  A three-week summer institute for college and university teachers; Univesity of Kansas.

July 19:  Registration closes for the 9th Annual Children's Poetry Camp "Words In Motion."

June 8:  WVPT Kids' Book Festival at the Rockingham Fair Grounds from 11:00a.m.-3:00p.m.; free and open to the public.

April 23:  Poet Tree Reading at the Edith J. Carrier Arboretum on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 4:00p.m.; free and open to the public.

April 27:  "Furiously Fun Salsa Party," FFPC Advisory Board fundraiser held at the House of Oak and Sofas, 8:00p.m.-11:00p.m.; advance tickets $40/at door $50.
