August 5-9: 9th Annual Children's Poetry Camp "Words In Motion." Poetry Camp will be held August 5-9 from 9:00a.m.-2:00p.m. for rising 3rd to rising 8th graders in JMU's Madison Union; $75 registration fee includes lunch and snacks; scholarships are available.
July 2013
July 14-August 3: "Don't Deny My Voice: reading and Teaching African American Poetry." A three-week summer institute for college and university teachers; Univesity of Kansas.
July 8: Registration closes for the 9th Annual Children's Poetry Camp "Words In Motion."

June 8: WVPT Kids' Book Festival at the Rockingham Fair Grounds from 11:00a.m.-3:00p.m.; free and open to the public.
