The Association for Global Business is a worldwide, non-profit organization, created exclusively to foster education in the fields of business, economics, computer information and science, political science, and related areas of global concern. The Association encourages and facilitates an exchange of information, ideas, and research activities among the people in academic life, business, government, and those who are concerned with education, research, and study in the fields of business and global enterprises. The main functions of the Association are to provide opportunities for the exchange of professional ideas and to create a general awareness of the significant accomplishments in the area of global enterprises. To achieve this goal, the Association meets once per year at various locations.
The Association for Global Business is governed by a president and an executive board. The president is the chief executive officer of the Association, in charge of the execution of the organization's rules, and works as a liaison with other professional and business organizations and the public at large. The president of the Association is also the chairman of the Executive Board. The Executive Board is the policy-making body, whose major function is to represent members in the strategy decision making process. The members of the Executive Board consist of the founder of the Association or his representative, the current President, the Vice President and Program Director, the Proceedings Editor(s), the Executive Secretary/Treasurer, the Journal Editor, and Newsletter Editor.
The Association for Global Business recognizes Professor Faramarz Damanpour as the founder and first President of the Association.
