Helping to Advance the Arts at JMU, the Community and Beyond

The College of Visual and Performing Arts is keeping the arts relevant. Through elements of imagination, creativity and innovation, our students are preparing to face societal challenges with fresh perspectives. To this end, the College has three primary funding initiatives:

Friends of the Arts

“Friends” is the gateway giving society of the College of Visual and Performing Arts. Gifts to this fund are unrestricted and used to support students, faculty, programs and guest artists in the School of Music, School of Theatre and Dance, and the School of Art, Design and Art History. Any gift, large or small, is greatly appreciated. Donors of gifts of $100 or more annually receive special privileges and recognition.

College of Visual and Performing Arts Scholarship Endowment

Visual and Performing Arts programs are highly competitive. A strong scholarship endowment allows JMU to recruit the best and brightest students. Increasing endowment funds for the College will provide long-term security for scholarship awards into the future, and help JMU to establish a recruiting advantage and attract the most talented artists.
