This concert features performances by the JMU Treble Chamber Choir and the University Men's, Women's and Combined Choruses. The JMU Treble Chamber Choir and the University Men’s and Combined Choruses are under the direction of Dr. W. Bryce Hayes. The University Women’s Chorus is under the direction of Dr. Jo-Anne van der Vat-Chromy. More

Winner of the Queen Elisabeth (2009) and Yehudi Menuhin Competitions (2008), Ray Chen is among the most compelling young violinists today. Chen has performed on his 1715 “Joachim” Stradivarius violin with the world’s leading orchestras, including the Orchestre National de France, where he performed in Paris’ Bastille Day 2015 concert televised to 800,000 people. With “rock-solid technique and lush sound” (Kurier), “Ray Chen can do pretty much anything he wants on the violin.” (The Washington Post)  More

Trio, a chamber group he co-founded that performs an eclectic mix of music including classical, folk, jazz and fusion. He is a professor of piano at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. More
