Winner of the Queen Elisabeth (2009) and Yehudi Menuhin Competitions (2008), Ray Chen is among the most compelling young violinists today. Chen has performed on his 1715 “Joachim” Stradivarius violin with the world’s leading orchestras, including the Orchestre National de France, where he performed in Paris’ Bastille Day 2015 concert televised to 800,000 people. Dubbed a “superb” pianist with “solid musicianship,” Jay Hershberger has appeared in concerts and recitals throughout North America, Europe and Asia. He tours extensively with Excelsior! Trio, a chamber group he co-founded that performs an eclectic mix of music including classical, folk, jazz and fusion. He is a professor of piano at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. More

This concert featuring artists and ensembles from the Shenandoah Valley and benefiting Any Given Child Harrisonburg combines performance, education and dialogue to engage audiences of all ages. The lineup includes the Harrisonburg Harmonizers, a male barbershop chorus, and the Waynesboro Symphony Orchestra, now in its 21st season.
