Two esteemed vocal ensembles from the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, D.C. will come together to sing new arrangements of music by rock legends Elvis, Queen, Prince, Madonna, Adele, and more! This incredible evening benefits the Valley AIDS Network (affiliated with the Institute for Innovation in Health and Human Services on the campus of JMU). Potomac Fever, a 14-voice a cappella pop ensemble, will perform followed by Rock Creek Singers, a chamber ensemble of 32. The Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, D.C. “delights audiences and champions gay equality with robust artistry, fun and surprise.” Now celebrating its 35th anniversary season, the GMCW has performed at the White House, for “We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial,” at the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall and Boston’s Symphony Hall, among others. www.gmcw.org
