"One of the most exciting musicians to come onto the jazz scene in the last 20 years."
Downbeat Magazine

"One of the most exciting musicians to come onto the jazz scene in the last 20 years" (DownBeat Magazine), Omer Avital is a visionary composer and virtuoso bassist who is pushing the boundaries of jazz expression and providing audiences with both swing and spiritual sustenance. His compositions range from sophisticated jazz conversations to funky, Middle Eastern grooves to long-form, orchestral arrangements of traditional Sephardi music. Avital's Arabic, North African, Israeli and European influences have inspired a handful of genre-defying, jazz-based ensembles, including his latest Omer Avital Quintet. The quintet, which has played together for the last 15 years, is made up of leading jazz musicians whose telepathic sense of communication and sincere joyfulness result in an uplifting concert experience. www.omeravital.com
