Now in its 33rd year, the Contemporary Music Festival features the American Modern Ensemble, a New York-based, world-class ensemble that includes co-founder, artistic director and conductor Rob Paterson. AME has performed and premiered more than 135 works by at least 120 living composers, "consistently demonstrating a flair for inventive programming." (The New York Times)

Paterson has been cited by the press as "one of the major contenders in American music" and for writing "exuberant and rhythmically vital music marked by energy and a wonderful sense of color." His music has been commissioned and performed by orchestras, chamber ensembles and choirs around the world. In 2011, Paterson won the Classical Recording Foundation's Composer of the Year Award. Check our website for information on other performances during the festival.
