Teleconferencing & Videoconferencing

Teleconferencing services can be accessed from any meeting room on-campus with an available phone line. In addition to the applicable room fee, there is a $55 charge should the telephone line require activation.

Videoconferencing, where two parties communicate interactively with the ability to see and talk to each other, can be accommodated in Conference Room 4. The capacity for this room while set up for videoconferencing is 16. Incoming calls are $150/hour, domestic outgoing calls are $200/hour, and international outgoing calls are $150/hour plus long distance charges. In addition, there is the standard $55 fee for the room.

Video feeds, where the viewing party can see and hear but not interact with the host party, can be accommodated in all conference and meeting space. A signal is received via satellite and is broadcast over the JMU cable system. People watching the presentation can see either a live or recorded presentation, but the host cannot see the remote audience. Audio interaction does not usually occur, but can take place via telephone. Satellite feeds cost $35 plus applicable room fees.
