Mountain Stream Symposium II
Sat, 21 Sep 2013 8:45 AM - 5:30 PM
This one-day symposium will host a diverse group of invited speakers from academia, agency, and non-profit groups interested in mountain streams of the Appalachian region. Contributed poster submissions are encouraged. Registration is free and open to the public, but required because seating is limited to the first 120 participants and lunch will be provided.
The symposium theme is Continuing Challenges for Critical Ecosystems, with the goal of highlighting emerging research and management that provide opportunities for understanding challenges facing mountain streams in our region. The symposium is a follow-up to the Virginia Mountain Stream Symposium I held at UVa in 2004 (http://swas.evsc.virginia.edu).
