Spring Break Climbing and Service in Sunny California

Sat, 2 Mar 2013 12:00 PM - Fri, 8 Mar 2013 12:00 PM

Grab your climbing gear because we're going climbing in the Mojave Desert.  That's right; this trip is dedicated to climbing among the amazing rock formations of Joshua Tree National Park.  Joshua Tree is one of the most popular rock climbing areas in the world, and for a good reason.  When other rock climbing locales are buried in winter snow, Josh is basking in Southern California sunshine.  Joshua Tree has one of the largest concentrations of rock climbing in the world with well over 5000 climbs, an amount that is daunting to all but the most fanatical local climbers.

Additionally we will be spending a day giving back by completing a service project in the area.  We will be base camping in or near the National Park. This trip is suitable for novice
through intermediate climbers.

Register at UREC by February 1, 2013 with land costs: $400 FLEX. Airfare will be due at a later time, and is anticipated to be approximately $500.
