March 2 - Spring Break Climbing and Service in Sunny California

Grab your climbing gear because we're going climbing in the Mojave Desert.  That's right; this trip is dedicated to climbing among the amazing rock formations of Joshua Tree National Park.  Joshua Tree is one of the most popular rock climbing areas in the world, and for a good reason.  When other rock climbing locales are buried in winter snow, Josh is basking in Southern California sunshine.  Joshua Tree has one of the largest concentrations of rock climbing in the world with well over 5000 climbs, an amount that is daunting to all but the most fanatical local climbers.

Additionally we will be spending a day giving back by completing a service project in the area.  We will be base camping in or near the National Park. This trip is suitable for novice
through intermediate climbers.

Register at UREC by February 1, 2013 with land costs: $400 FLEX. Airfare will be due at a later time, and is anticipated to be approximately $500.

Contact Guy DeBrun with questions.

March 2 - Spring Break Whitewater Kayaking Trip

Join us for a week road-tripping deep into the mountains of North Carolina with kayaks in tow to paddle some of the state's beautiful whitewater rivers.  This trip is designed with the novice to intermediate boater in mind.  Sections of rapids will generally consist of class I – III rapids as rated on the International Scale of River Difficulty and will include river sections on The Little Tennessee, Tuskegee, and Nantahala Rivers among others.  We will base camp as a group at Tumbling Waters campground in Almond, NC.

As part of the trip package, kayak roll and pools session will be made available to student participants throughout the month of February at UREC to knock the rust of your existing boat skills and to develop new ones.

Register at UREC by February 1, 2013 with $400 FLEX.
