Adult Swim Lessons (Beginner)

Mon, 28 Jan 2013 6:00 PM - 6:30 PM

These lessons are for adults wanting to be comfortable and active in the water. Participants will learn how to float, breathing techniques, submerge completely, propel themselves through the water on both the front and the back, and the basic front and back crawl strokes. The goal is to be able to swim a specified length (25 yards) and feel comfortable in deep water. The class is designed to prepare participants not only to experience swimming, but to participate in various recreational water activities.

This is a 3-class session from 6-6:30pm on January 28, February 4 and 11.

Register for this program with $20 FLEX only at the UREC Welcome Center by the Friday prior to the start of the session. There is a DART machine located in the UREC lobby that participants can utilize to deposit money into their FLEX account. This DART machine also provides DART cards. Visitors and participants can purchase the cards out of the DART machine for one dollar ($0.75 for the card and $0.25 credit put on the card). They can then put money on them to use for FLEX charges. For more information about FLEX, visit Campus Card Services.

For current JMU students, faculty, staff members, and affiliates only.
