PANEL: Peacebuilding in Colombia

Wed, 27 Sep 2017 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Peacebuilding in Colombia: Engaging communities in reconciliation and healing

JMU's Center for International Stabilization and Recovery (CISR) will host a panel event regarding peacebuilding efforts in Colombia, a country that has suffered 60 years of civil war.

Panelists will represent CISR, the Universidad Technologia de Bolivar (UTB) in Cartagena, Colombia, and other entities engaged in the pathway to ending conflict and promoting reconciliation in Colombia. Speakers will engage in a guided discussion regarding their work with conflict-affected populations and talk about what the 2016 peace agreement means for communities impacted by the violence. The panel will be moderated by Dr. Charles Blake of JMU's Department of Political Science.

There will be time allotted for audience questions and also a reception with refreshments to follow the discussion.

This will be a Wellness Passport event.
