Course Number: IT 160

Creating Accessible Materials in Microsoft Office (CAMMO)

Creating material that you know is accessible to people with disabilities can be a daunting task. As part of Disability Awareness Week (March 24th-28th), IT Training has teamed up with the Office of Disability Services to create a 90-minute training designed to show you some of the great resources built into Microsoft Office that will assist you in creating accessible materials. During this course, we will also discuss the most common impediments created for people with various disabilities when content is not Universally Designed.

  • Learn how your course materials, PowerPoints, emails, Excel files, etc. can be made more accessible.
  • Use Microsoft's built-in Accessibility Checker to search your material for accessibility problems prior to finalizing it.
  • Create accessible PDFs from MS Office applications.
  • Learn what a screen reader is and how someone who is visually impaired interacts with your content.

Please register now in MyMadison for the inaugural presentations of the CAMMO Training: Creating Accessible Materials in Microsoft Office (IT160).  This event is co-sponsored by IT Training.
