CAMPAIGN DESCRIPTION
This is a 6-week weight loss challenge to promote healthy choices while adding in some friendly competition!

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE?
All JMU employees are eligible regardless of classification.

WHEN IS IT?
February 1, 2016 – March 11, 2016

WHAT DO I GET?
All participants will receive an incentive.  We will have a grand prize for the individual “Biggest Loser” as well as the “Biggest Loser” team.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU

  • You must email benefits@jmu.edu by January 22, 2016 to sign up
  • Follow the rules (see Official Rules)
  • Listen to your body and don’t do anything that makes you uncomfortable or unhealthy
  • Have fun!!

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM US

  • Complete confidentiality
  • Accurate record keeping
  • Inspirational emails/messages containing:
    • Recipes
    • Exercise ideas
    • Potential events
    • Health info
  • We will supply a plan as outlined in “The Biggest Loser:  6 Weeks to a Healthier You”.  This is simply a suggestion. You are free to follow any healthy plan you choose.  Following a specific plan is not a requirement.

Official Rules

The weight-loss competition will run for 6 weeks beginning February 1, 2016 and ending March 11, 2016.  You must email benefits@jmu.edu by January 22, 2016 to sign up.

You may enter the competition as an individual or as part of a team.  Teams may include up to 10 members

Private weekly weigh-ins will be held at the following locations:
University Health Center
UREC
University Services Building
Each person must weigh-in on the same scale (at the same place) during the competition.

Weigh-ins are scheduled for the following dates:
2/1/16*
2/5/16
2/12/16
2/19/16
2/26/16
3/4/16
3/11/16*
(*required weigh in)

Once you sign up to participate, a detailed list of places and times will be available.

Scoring is based on a percentage (not the number of pounds) of body weight lost per individual or per team.

Good attendance helps you stay on track towards meeting your weight-loss goal.  You may miss up to THREE weigh-ins during the competition.  Please note everyone MUST weigh-in on the initial weigh-in (2/1/16) and the final weigh-in (3/11/16)

The purpose of this contest is to support your efforts to create a healthy weight-loss diet and exercise program and to establish patterns that you continue long after the contest is over.

It is not intended to promote rapid weight loss!

Please consult your physician if you have any health concerns before starting any diet or exercise plan.
