September 11 - Honors in the Workplace: Alumni discuss careers in consulting

Presented by Madison Honors.

IBM Global Business Services (GBS), the world's largest consulting organization, is excited to connect with Madison Honors next Thursday, September 11th at 6:30 PM in ISAT 159. Several JMU Honors alumns will discuss their full-time, entry-level consulting opportunities, what it is like to work for IBM, and give a workshop on nailing case interviews. Students from all majors and graduation years are welcome.

Location: Shenandoah Hall Multipurpose Room

Learn more about upcoming study abroad opportunities available through the Honors Program:

Honors Seminars Abroad: Three-week Maymester courses open to first- and second-year Honors students. Summer 2015 programs in Barcelona, Florence, London, and Malta. Application deadline: Nov. 1, 2014.

Oxford, Cambridge, and St. Andrews: Summer, semester, or full year study abroad experiences at Britain's oldest and most respected universities. Oxford and St. Andrews are ideal for sophomores and juniors; Cambridge is open to students in any year. Students receive Honors credits through these study abroad programs.

Faculty study abroad leaders and students with study abroad experience will discuss program details, application information, and answer questions.

September 24 - MADISON HONORS: Resume Writing Workshop

LOCATION: HHS 0014

Madison Honors is hosting a Resume Writing Workshop presented by Career and Academic Planning on Wednesday, September 24 at 6:45PM in HHS 0014. Students will be able to learn the steps towards writing a resume from start to finish and ask questions about resume-crafting. Students do not need to have a resume written to attend this workshop. However, attending the workshop with a first draft completed can be beneficial so that you can make edits as needed.
