MADISON HONORS is the official student organization for the Honors Program, whose purpose is to create social, educational, and service opportunities for JMU Honors students. Madison Honors is an initiative of the Student Honors Advisory Council (SHAC).

The STUDENT HONORS ADVISORY COUNCIL (SHAC) serves as the student government body for the Honors Program, representing the interests of Honors students, developing community through Madison Honors, and working with Honors Program directors and staff to develop student-centered programs and initiatives. SHAC plays a direct role in shaping the future of the JMU Honors Program.
