Promises and Pitfalls of High Impact Practices (Roundtable)

Wed, 14 Nov 2018 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM

Location:  Student Success Center room 1075; lunch will be provided.

Join the Engaged Teacher-Scholars (ETS) from the Center for Faculty Innovation for a discussion about the promises and pitfalls of high impact practices (https://www.aacu.org/resources/high-impact-practices). What are they? What benefits do they provide to students, faculty, and the university? What challenges might they pose for implementation and research? Come learn about HIPs and engage in a discussion about what promises they bring for student engagement and some challenges related to access, implementation, and evaluation research. The discussion will be facilitated by the ETS leaders from various departments across campus. ETS leaders are educators who engage in evidence-based teaching and learning scholarly activities and have been selected to share their experiences with the campus community.
