January Symposium 2018 is a day-long conference based on different needs and interests related to faculty scholarship. All sessions will be held at JMU's Rose Library on Thursday, January 4th.

Sessions are offered on scholarly writing, research design skills, the scholarship of teaching & learning (SoTL) and writing strategies, among others. Three programming tracks have been identified for: Methods & Data, Manuscripts & Writing, and Theorizing Teaching. Lockdown sessions offer space to work on a writing project or spring syllabi. 

Symposium Breakfast 8:45-9:15 AM

Community-Building Breakfast Cafè, Rose Third Floor Flex Space

Start your day with a shared breakfast and conversation with faculty from across the campus. Participants are invited to settle in for a shared meal with colleagues or to quickly grab breakfast goodies before heading to the first 9:30 a.m. session.
