Individual scholarly productivity will be fostered through participation in a supportive writing community that encourages the cultivation and completion of writing projects throughout the Fall semester. This facilitated scholarship community offers faculty a space to: develop a scholarly writer’s profile; advance a writing project plan; participate in guided peer review of drafts; dedicate time to writing and editing; and celebrate success. Whether working on a manuscript, book project, or other scholarly project, this experience will help scholars move toward project completion. Participants need to commit to being present for four 3-hour meetings (10/5, 10/19, 11/2, and 11/16). Participants will also have the opportunity to write collectively either in-person or via Google hangout (or a similar virtual meeting tool) on alternate weeks. Applications are due September 20.

Faculty participants will make progress toward these program outcomes:

  • Advancing a scholarly writing project.

Facilitator: Becca Howes-Mischel, Ph.D., Sociology/ Anthropology
