Jim Collins, the Virginia M. Ullman Professor of Natural History and the Environment at Arizona State University, will give a colloquium in the biology department on Monday January 29 12:15PM-1:15PM in Bioscience 1007.  Jim will discuss the history of the life sciences, the evolution of ideas that drive research in the life sciences, and where he thinks life sciences research will head in the future. In addition to numerous other roles, Jim was formerly the Chair of the Board of AAC&U (American Association of Colleges and Universities) and the Assistant Director of NSF’s biological sciences division.
