Join Rain Pryor, a woman who does it all, as she envisages diversity. Pryor wears many hats: stand-up comedienne, singer, author, award-winning actress, Multiple Sclerosis activist and educator, director and producer. Growing up in a biracial home, daughter of a Jewish mother and a famous African American comedian father, she couldn’t help but develop a sense of humor.
Like fusion cuisine, diversity can entice the palate while it nourishes the hearts, minds and souls of all those sitting at the table. While diversity is held up as an ideal for society, moving toward that goal can be challenging. There isn’t one tried and true recipe for “cooking it up” and effectively blending ingredients calls for the ability to simultaneously hold and monitor “insider” and “outsider” perspectives.
Join us for the evening as Rain Pryor blends her exceptional talents with her unique perspectives on race, culture, spirituality and ability status to enrich our abilities to approach an increasingly diverse world with resilience as we attempt to think and eat outside of the box.
