Joe White is originally from Sacramento. He moved to San Francisco in the 1960s, Manhattan in the 1970s and D.C. in the 1980s. White now spends his time in South Florida, where he paints watercolors from photos using a grid system. His work has appeared in two Whitney Biennials, solo exhibitions from coast to coast and belong to the collections of the National Gallery of Art and the American Medical Association, among others.
