A published botanical illustrator for a book about bromeliads, Anita Cooper also did pen-and-ink drawings for scientific papers for the National Institute for Biodiversity. Cooper majored in fine art at Berea College and earned a master’s degree in art education at the University of Iowa. She currently teaches at the Beverly Street Studio School in Staunton.
