Gruesome Playground Injuries, By Rajiv Joseph, charts the intersection of two
lives, using scars, wounds, and calamity as the mile markers to explore
why people hurt themselves to gain another’s love. Specifically, over
the course of 30 years, the lives of Kayleen and Doug intersect at the
most bizarre intervals, leading the two childhood friends to compare the
scars and physical calamities that keep drawing them together. Contains adult language, sexual content, and partial nudity.
