Dr. S.V. Srinivas,
professor of Indian culture and society at Georgetown University in Washington,
D.C., presents “Cinema and Social Inequality.” As an expert on Indian film
stars and fan clubs as cultural performance, he is teaching about India through
the medium of Indian films and literature. Srinivas is also the author of
“Megastar: Chiranjeevi and Telugu Cinema after N.T. Rama Rao,” which was
published by Oxford University Press in 2009. Sponsored by the Mahatma Gandhi
