He is currently working on projects on ministerial careers in Europe (in conjunction with the Parlgov data infrastructure), legislative oversight in the British parliament (1997-2012), and dynamics of parliamentary discourse and debate during the last century.

Bright holds a PhD in political science from the European University Institute, an MSc in International Politics from the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London, and a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Bristol.
