When do I call 911?

Call 911 in an emergency.

An emergency requires help right away from the Police, Fire Department, or Rescue Squad. This includes:

  • physical danger

  • fire

  • car accidents

  • bodily harm

  • injury
  • domestic violence

  • theft

  • vandalism

  • or any other situation that you need immediate help

Don't call 911 for things that do not need immediate action.

When you call 911, your location is immediately displayed on the map and your address is displayed on the computer. The 911 operator can send the right help within a moment's notice.
