Organizations and Publications

Extracurricular activities can be a great way to extend an interest in English beyond the classroom and even to build a resume. A variety of organizations and publications exist at JMU that may be of interest to English majors.

Sigma Tau Delta

Sigma Tau Delta is the International English Honors Society. JMU’s Psi Sigma chapter of Sigma Tau Delta sponsors a Valentine-Grams Event in February and hosts an annual Spring conference for undergraduate papers.

If you meet these qualifications and are interested in becoming a member of Sigma Tau Delta, print out this application and return the completed form and required documentation to 215 Keezell. You may also email applications either to Stephanie Maguire or Dr. Marina Favila. The faculty advisor to JMU's Sigma Tau Delta chapter is Dr. Marina Favila.
