Inez Graybael Roop (B.A., 1935)– Former public school teacher. Member, James Madison University Board of Visitors 1974-1977 and 1980-1984. Co-founder of JMU's first alumni chapter in Richmond. Awarded the JMU Distinguished Alumni Award. Generous supporter of JMU and namesake of JMU's own Roop hall.

Barbara Hall (B.A., 1982) – TV writer /producer, Emmy nominated, creator of the Joan of Arcadia series

Joseph Maddrey (B.A., 2001) – TV producer and author of Nightmares in Red, White, and Blue: The Evolution of the American Horror Film
