Virginia Woolf wrote, “One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not
dined well.” What does it mean to “dine well”? Perhaps dine seems like a stuffy
word, as if we must all wear uncomfortable suits and gowns to dinner. More
simply, what does it mean to eat well? In this creative nonfiction workshop, we
will explore this question through food memoir, food journalism, and food
films, and we will write our own food-inspired narratives about the ways we eat,
think, love, and dream.
